It finally dried out enough so I could cut the front lawn. I was surprised at how many black walnut leaves have already fallen!

I made my slow cooker Salisbury steak. Unfortunately, I chucked the recipe so I can't tell you exactly how I did it. But, I put six ounces of sliced mushrooms and half of a sliced onion in the bottom. Then I layered the six patties on top. Then I mixed together 12 ounces of beef broth, a clove of minced garlic, two tablespoons of ketchup, two tablespoon of fresh Italian parsley, one teaspoon of Dijon mustard and a packet of McCormick's  brown beef gravy. I whisked it all together and poured it in the slow cooker. Then I turned it on low for the next five hours.

When  the time was up, I took the patties out and kept them warm. I mixed up some cornstarch and water and added that to the slow cooker. I turned it on high until the liquid had thickened. Then I added the patties back in  and turned the slow cooker on warm.

Then I peeled three large russet potatoes, cubed them and turned them into mashed potatoes. I put a patty and some mashed potatoes on a plate, topped both of them with the mushroom gravy and feasted!

I watched DIY shows until the Tonight Show came on. I switched channels and watched that until bedtime.
