I got up at 3:00 a.m. to use the bathroom. I noticed the motion detector spotlights in back were on. So, I looked out to see what kind of critter tripped them. Then I realized it was just the amount of snow falling! Uh, oh...
So, I left early for the doctor's and drove through falling snow and on slippery roads.
I got out around 11:00 a.m. It had stopped snowing, so I called my barber and asked if she could squeeze me in. She laughed and said to come on over.
When I got there, I found out why she had laughed. Neither she or Victor (the barbershop owner) had any customers. She said most people called and cancelled!
After my haircut, I stopped at Kroger's and got a few things. I didn't think to bring my grocery list, so naturally I forgot a few other things.
Back home, I left the truck outside and used the push broom to get some of the water (that had melted off the truck and onto the floor) out.
I didn't have that much spaghetti and meatballs left, so I made a small salad. All I had to work with was some lettuce, celery, onion and a hard boiled egg. But, it tasted pretty good. Then I ate the last of the spaghetti and meatballs.
I filled out a few bills and my friend Leon's birthday card. I took those out to the mailbox and then came in and changed clothes.
Sidebar: The flag was still up when it got dark, later.
I did a load of laundry. My brother Carl called to see how I was doing.
I felt I needed to eat some fresh vegetables, so I peeled and diced a rutabaga. I boiled that and then warmed up a small ham slice. I ate the ham with Dijon mustard and the rutabaga with butter and salt.
Sidebar: A lot of people mash their rutabaga, but I like to eat them just diced.
I ate way too much rutabaga (I love it but rarely make it) so I had to lay down for a bit and rest my tummy.
I watched a special on the Knights Templar until 10:00 p.m. and then switched to reading until bedtime.
