Sunday's Story

I woke up late again on Sunday. I am blaming this on the the damn Super Moon! I had oatmeal for breakfast. I filled in the rather lengthy Blog post. Then I started on the Sunday chores.

Amanda sent me a text, saying she had finally found someone who wants the tires and rims.

Sidebar: Thank God! Those damn things have been taking up space in my garage since last spring when she got her new car. She had them listed on Craig's List and had only one guy ask about them and then never texted back.

She had agreed to meet the lady (yes, its a lady) halfway between Adrian and my house. So, she wanted to know if I would help her load them in her car or drive them there in the truck. I told her no way would they fit in the car, so I would drive them there.

Sidebar: Sounds like I was just being a nice guy, but I really just wanted them out of the garage!

She said she would be here around 3:00 p.m. and we would drive out to Karl's Cabin.

Sidebar: She wanted to meet her in a public place. There are too many Criag's List murders.

I had time, so I vacuumed the living room and moved all the kitchen chairs in there. Then I swept the kitchen and main bathroom floors. Finally, I filled a bucket with hot water and Pine Sol and mopped both floors.

Sidebar: It's been a long time since I did that. I usually just spot clean with the Wet Jet.

I was shocked at just how dirty the water was when I finished!!!

Then I shaved, showered and got dressed. Amanda showed up right on time and we loaded the tires in the truck.

We drove out to the meeting spot and got there before 3:30 p.m. (the agreed upon meet time). And we waited... and waited... and waited. Finally, Amanda (who had to be home in time to get Scott to work) sent her a text. The lady said she was still about a half hour out. Amanda told her to hurry, please, as she had to get Scott to work. So, we waited...

I told her it was too bad that we didn't know this earlier as she could have bought me lunch for hauling the tires.

Finally, she showed up. She shoved $250.00 in Amanda's hand and we all transferred the tires to her truck. Then we raced home (and I do mean raced) to get Amanda's car and let her pick up Scott.

On the way back, she was telling me how stressful the past few days have been. She said she needed a break and would I like to go to Bingo with her and her mother. I figured I could always finish housecleaning on Monday, so I said sure.

So, we agreed to meet at the Elk's Club at 6:00 p.m. I got there first and got a text from her. The Southfield freeway was closed, so she was coming on surface streets and would be late. Also, her mother decided to stay home, so we would need some daubers.

I went in and got my stuff and the daubers. The place was pretty full, but I got us a place way in the back. She showed up about 15 minutes late (we had already played a couple of games). She was pretty wired when she got there (she had problems with Keldon doing his homework before she left), but Bingo requires concentration and she settled down after a bit.

Neither one of us hit a Bingo, but she won $30.00 on those silly tickets you rip open.

When the game ended, she offered to buy me breakfast. I said I was just kidding about buying me food for hauling the tires. She insisted it was only fair, so we drove separately to Ram's Horn. She had French toast and bought me blueberry pancakes.

I got home about 10:30 p.m. It was too late for television, so I read until bedtime.
