It was damn cold on Thursday morning. I got out my winter coat, knit hat and gloves to let them warm up while I got ready for work.

When I put my coat on, I reached for my hat and gloves but then thought,"It's not even winter yet, you wussie. You don't need those yet!" So, I left them on the table.

It was lightly snowing on the way in. That lasted throughout the morning.

I went to Applebee's for lunch I got the three cheese chicken cavatappi (sp) and the French onion soup.

Sidebar: The soup is some of the best French onion I ever ate. But the stringy cheese makes it impossible to eat gracefully, lol!

The snow had increased and the wind had really picked up on the way back to work.

In the afternoon, we learned there was a horrific 40 car/semi pile-up on I-96 near Fowlerville. Caused by either a white-out or black ice, it left three dead and scores hospitalized.

I had to scrape the truck windows before I could drive home (I really missed my gloves at that point). The side roads were slippery, but I-96 was clear here.

I baked a boxed pizza for dinner, after adding yellow banana peppers and more mozzarella cheese.

I started the Wednesday wash while it baked.

The TV guide on the cable was out (grrr...) so I watched a couple of taped DIY shows and then went to bed at 10:00 p.m.

  1. you need your hat and gloves.....this is Michigan

  2. I did learn that the hard way, but thanks for the advice.

  3. I enjoy French onion soup but only in small amounts. It becomes a bit monotonous. I had some delicious Tuscan shrimp and white bean soup recently.

  4. That sounds excellent. I don't get monotonous. I love the onions, the beef broth, the soggy bread and the gooey cheese. It's just embarrassing to eat in front of people.
