Sunday's Story

I woke up at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday.I felt like eating breakfast, so I fried up four strips of bacon and made two eggs over easy in the grease. I added some toast and breakfast was perfect!

I watched the morning news shows and did the usual Sunday morning chores.  I ate two hot dogs for lunch. Then I took a nap.

The phone woke me up. It was my dear daughter, Melissa, so we talked for a while. Okay, a long while. So long the battery ran out on the phone and I got cut off mid-sentence. Sorry I didn't say goodbye.

When I woke up, I couldn't find my glasses. So, I just talked to Melissa without them. Eventually, I went and got the new pair from the truck. I hate them, but need to see.

Oh, forgot to mention, it started snowing here around 3:00 p.m. I quickly melted on the driveway and road, but was sticking to the grass.

I had a Smithfield ham steak I got on sale a few weeks ago, so I broiled that in the oven while I "baked" a big potato in the microwave. That and some sweetcorn was my Sunday dinner.

Sidebar: I was totally unimpressed with the ham's taste, BTW.

I watched the Red Wing game (we won!) and then went to bed.

You're using your new glasses as backup? Did you ever find the old ones?

  2. I stopped looking for them when I realized just how much better I could see. The wire frames are like three years old (you remember our prescription plan, right?) These damn cataracts are kicking my ass. I've lost about half my field of vision in my left eye. When I come across them, I think they will become my backup. But, I still hate these glasses.
