The Weekend, plus three...

Saturday, I was all piss and vinegar. I got up, shaved and showered and headed out. I was going grocery shopping! First time in almost a month.

I stopped at the Feed Store before I got to Kroger's and bought a 40 pound bag of bird seed. I had them load it in the truck bed and then locked the tailgate.

Then I headed to Kroger's. Now, here's the downside of not going shopping on a weekly basis. You have to buy a LOT of stuff and by the time I grabbed two gallons of bleach, laundry soap, dish soap, dishwasher pellets, etc., I could barely move the damn cart.

I spent over $150.00 but according to my receipt, I saved over $30.00.

I barely got all the shit I bought into the truck.

Back home, I left the truck outside (the only way I can access the passenger side) to unload it. All in all, it was over two hours from me leaving to shop to finally pulling the truck back inside.

Then, I took the 40 pound bag of bird seed out of the back of the truck and totally blew out my back.

Stupid, stupid, stupid...

So, I spent Monday in bed. Then I spent most of Tuesday in bed (I did make it to Therapy) and Wednesday. I went into work (finally) on Thursday through heavy fog. I got there an hour early because I had to leave at 3:00 p.m. for my PT evaluation.

That didn't go as well as I'd hoped. Some things were  a little better but no dramatic breakthrough. They suggested a little more therapy, but they need to contact my primary care physician and ask for a new prescription. Then they need to check with Blue Cross/Blue Shield to see what they will pay for. They said they would call me and let me know how it all turns out.

Courtney had brought me in some homemade chicken pot pie on Monday, so I ate that for dinner tonight. It was really good, especially the crust. Oh, and I realized I never reported on her peach cobbler. It was excellent.

I watched some TV, but went to bed early.

  1. Thank You for all of the updates. At least I know you didn't die

  2. Don't worry bro. I plan to make it to your funeral.
Although none of your kids will talk to me since I voted for Johnson and not Hillary. :(

  3. What happened to your bird seed trick with the wheelbarrow? Maybe it's time to check out the 10 Home Apps You Must Get If You Never Want To Leave Your House (it includes someone to shop for you):

  4. Good idea! I was leaning towards Blue Apron, where they send you the ingredients for seven meals once a week. I know somebody who uses that and they love it.
