It was stiflingly hot on Thursday!

We all chipped in and bought pizza, wings, cheesy bread and soda for Vicky's farewell lunch. We ate it in the conference room. The pizza was HUGE (like three feet in diameter) but excellent. I excused myself after eating and went to Lowe's for more mulch.

After work, some of us went to Time Out to say goodbye to Vicky. I got there first and warned Amanda, the waitress and Dan, the owner, to get ready for 15-20 people. It was mostly current co-workers, but Matt and Michelle showed up as well. People were buying appetizers and some bought dinner. I thought about it, but decided not to.People started leaving around 7:00 p.m. so I decided to as well.

Vicky's brother Luis showed up about then. So, I shook his hand and then hugged women goodbye.

I thought about spreading the mulch, but when I got out of the bar, my glasses fogged up from the heat and humidity. So, I decided it was too damn hot to work outside.

I made a salad  for my dinner from the tomatoes and some lettuce and watched the Olympics until midnight.

  1. where is Vicky off too?

  2. I forget the name of the company, but it's a multi-national construction company, with sites in Mexico, Brazil, etc. She'll be working in the headquarters, located right next to Campus Martius in Detroit. It's 7 minutes from her house (no expressways) and more money, so good for her.

  3. Congratulations, Vicky!

  4. Where did you find a 3' pizza?

    Congrats, Vicky!

  5. I think its called Benito's or something like that. They are famous for them. But, expensive ($26.00 or something).

  6. Hmm... Sounds vaguely familiar.
