Tuesday's Tale

The one thing I didn't do on Monday night was to get the trash ready for pickup. So, instead of filling in the blog like I should have, I was going through the fridge looking for expired stuff.

I got dressed for work and took the trash out to the road. I had to laugh. I could see the boxes out there all night, so I figured the trash pickers never showed. However, when I got close up, I saw they had left the fan blades and lights, but took both fan motors!

It was another muggy day, with a high of 92 degrees here.

I went to Newburgh Grill for lunch. To celebrate their reopening, I ordered a chili dog and onion rings. I again chatted with both waitresses at different times and they said they had great vacations. Good for them, they work hard!

Lunch was great, but I burped for the rest of the afternoon.

When I got home, I took in the trashcan and the mail and then changed clothes. I went out back and watered the flower and herb gardens with the hose. There was a "chance" of scattered showers tonight, but I no longer trust these chances.

Sidebar: the gardens next to the house in back look great. It's the ones up front that have suffered this year.

I hooked the hose to the soaker hose in the vegetable garden and set the kitchen timer for an hour.

Sidebar: My neighbors were splashing around in their pool. I was hot, sweaty and jealous.

Then I took the watering can and watered all the container gardens, the mailbox garden and any plant that looked pitiful (and there was a lot of them) up front. This time I mixed Miracle Gro in the water.

I finished up around 7:30 p.m.

I had bought a smaller size DiGiorno pizza. Not exactly a personal pizza, but more like a four piece pizza (first time I ever saw one). Anyway, this one was thin crust with just pepperoni and green peppers. I baked it up and cut it up. I ended up eating the whole thing! It was pretty good.

A rain shower blew in a little after 8:00 p.m. But when I checked the gauge Wednesday morning, I got less than 1/4 inch of rain here.

I went to bed just after a rerun of NCIS was over at 9:00 p.m.

  1. It rained over here in the middle of the night.....

  2. I think my shower here was done before midnight. Lots of power outages elsewhere, but I just got a sprinkle, dammit!

  3. You could always splash around in your tub (but no need to blog about it).

Did you ever buy the AirBake pizza pan?
