Thursday's Tale

It was cloudy and overcast on Thursday. We got no rain here overnight, but there is a slight chance of rain today. We need it badly here...

I went to Applebee's for lunch. I got my favorite: the three cheese pasta with chicken and the French onion soup.

I drove back through Hine's Park and it was sad to see the vast expanses of browning grass.

It did rain briefly here in the afternoon. I had to go out and shut the truck windows.

But, by the time I went home, the sun had come out. I checked the rain gauge and there was only a trace in the tube. Sigh...

I had a few redskin potatoes that were sprouting, so I peeled them and made a little potato salad. My celery was limp and the whole thing needed more crunch. Radishes would have been a nice touch.

I ate that with the last brat.

I ran the dishwasher and did a load of laundry.

I watched some TV and went to bed at 10:30 p.m.

  1. It's a little early in the year for everything to be burning up, isn't it?

  2. Yes, we are having a horrible, hot, dry June here.
