Thursday

I checked the gauge when I woke up Thursday morning and found that shower produced less than 1/4 inch of rain Wednesday night. I needed more!

I stopped in at the 24-hour supermarket and got a loaf of bread and a head of lettuce on the way to work. I took them into work so they didn't sit in the hot truck cab all day

It was another hot day. But there was a nice breeze, so that helped.

I went to Ruby Tuesday and got the buffalo chicken sandwich. This time I substituted onion rings for the fries. It was excellent! I drove through Hines Park on the way back to work.

The afternoon was busy, so it passed quickly.

When I got home, the damn cottonwood trees in the vacant lot next door were raining down those puffy seeds. The garage roof looked like it had snow on it!

I changed clothes after treating the cat. I went out back and ran the three prong cultivator through the garden rows. I noticed the green beans still hadn't germinated. So, I gave up and replanted them. I hand-watered the bean seed row.

I got out the line trimmer and cut all the weeds in the driveway down low. I was getting sweaty so I quit for the night. I noticed the first peony had bloomed.

Back inside, I washed up and made dinner. I warmed up a can of Bush's grillin' beans and made a sandwich with the bread, lettuce and some smoked turkey I had thawed out. Just a dish of beans and the sandwich made a good dinner.

I watched a little TV, but changed to reading at 8:00 p.m. I think I made it until 9:30 before I dozed off.

  2. You know, I bought them just after I moved in, so I have no idea anymore. :(
