No Moaning, this Monday!

It was even warmer on Monday. I think we hit 80 degrees eventually, but it was warm and with a light breeze all day. Perfect!

I went to Ten Yen for lunch and got the chicken sub gum. I spent the rest of my lunch hour cruising Hines Park.

When I got home after work, I immediately changed into shorts and a tee shirt. I went out back and, using the plastic tubes and gutter screws (I couldn't find any aluminum gutter nails), I set up the soaker hose.  Then I turned it on for an hour.

I grabbed the wheel barrow, a shovel and my gloves. I went out front and dug away the winter debris from each end of the driveway culvert (it fills up every year). I also dug out the one dead rose (the yellow one).

Why does every yellow rose I plant die? I dunno...

I noticed the iris were starting to bloom, so I took some pictures for you.

Small ones on south side of garage

I cut some more lilacs for the table, buttoned everything up and went inside.

I made a small side salad, topped with bottled Thousand Island dressing (just to be different) and warmed up two slices of the latest broccoli cheddar quiche.

I watched some TV, but went to bed at 10:00 p.m.

  3. Can you leave the hose in year round or is this is a put it in and take it out each year thing?

  4. @ Jake: I take mine in here, but I buried them in the hedge row in St. Clair.
