This was before I smashed myself to bits on the Suzuki, BTW...
We were out back of Bob's (B___'s brother) house at the time, just off of Hall Road. There were some good cliffs back there and we spent an enjoyable day trying to climb them. I admit, I flipped over and fell off as much as I made it to the top. But, that's part of the fun.
Sidebar: The one lesson I was taught and religiously adhered to was that you got back up and shut off the bike.
Sidebar II: That's when I hit that damn stump, year's later, I did actually stand up, but then fell down on my destroyed leg. Instinct.
Anyway, I was at the top of the short cliffs, after making it up and resting for a moment. I saw a kid (he couldn't have been more that 10 years old) take his dirt bike and race to the edge of the "cliff." He pulled a wheelie at the edge and went over!
I ran over to the edge and watched him land on his back wheel and drive away!!!
I would have never tried that...
Damn kids!
Funny how that works.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think as you age, you get more common sense. But it may be that you just get more cautious...
