Weird Ass Sh*t!

It was 53 degrees when I woke up, but the temperature fell all day from there.

I had an 11:15 a.m. follow-up appointment  with my surgeon.

Sidebar: I never saw him after my surgery. I woke up in a big room with a lot of curtains. The nurses kept checking my vitals and, when they thought I was good to go, called Vicky.

So, I went into the exam room. The service dog wandered in and I petted her. She had a haircut since the last time I saw her.

The doctor came in and said, "Well, the good news is that the biopsy came back normal." I said, "So, did you get the damn mass out?"

He said there was NO mass!

Now, if you remember, my doctor felt it, I felt it and others felt it, My doctor even took several x-rays. And, he (the surgeon) also felt it.

But, he said it was inflamed scar tissue on my tendon!

I told him I'd never had an injury to my right bicep. So, how did I get scar tissue? He said he had no idea, but he didn't cut it out of my tendon as I wouldn't have been able to lift my right arm up. He suggested that, after the swelling goes down, if it's still noticeable, I get an MRI.

He gave me the pathology results and it said, "Dense scar tissue with adjacent fibrovascular tissue."

It also said, "A focus with foreign material and giant cell reaction is noted."

WTF? I know I'm old and forget a lot, but I never, ever, recall an injury to my right bicep.

I was back at work by 11:30 p.m., confused...

I went to lunch at Big Boy and got the cup of broccoli and ham soup, half a turkey sandwich on multi-grain bread and (this time) a Caesar side salad. Note: That was delicious, but too much food for me.

It started raining off and on in the afternoon, but helf off while I drove home.

I warmed up the lst of the corned beef and cabbage for my dinner.

I made myself finish my Federal and State taxes. Then I watched a little TV but turned it off early and went to bed.

  1. Your black and blue brotherMarch 24, 2016 at 9:34 AM

That is "Weird Ass Sh*t!" but good news. Probably from beating the sh*t out of your brother.

  2. "A focus with foreign material and giant cell reaction is noted."

Foreign body giant cell reaction: The cells (macrophages) are reacting to some sort of foreign body -- dirt, glass, splinters, whatever -- that's in the tissue. Which caused an infection and inflammation in basic terms.

  3. @GPF: I don't recall "beating the shit out of you." I do remember getting a giggle pushing you halfway up the ramp Dad made and then jumping off, watching you try to brake the chair. 12 year old fun!

P.S. I got my ass whipped for that... But it was worth it, LOL!

@ Carla: That sounds ominous. Will I have to have more test or another operation? I'm seriously tired of being cut up!

  4. Are you sure he didn't say "no mas?" Maybe he got in there and got tired and gave up.

  5. LMAO! I never thought of that!
