It has been a long week…
I thought I’d treat everybody at work, so I stopped at the
Looney bakery and bought two dozen mixed donuts on Friday morning. That may have
been a $15.00 mistake…
It turned out that Courtney was working from home (one of
her boys were sick), my boss had to leave at 11:00 a.m. for conference and the
biggest donut eater of all, Victoria, was downriver doing inventory for two
days.
Sunk cost…
I had two (yeah, I admit it) and they were as great as
always.
Speaking of me, I’m okay. Tri-County never called to check
on me (like they said they would) but the only effect of my procedure was a bit
of a sore throat and a raspy voice.
I went to lunch at Time Out and got the fish and chips. It
was excellent, as always. “In Cod we trust!!!”
From there, I went and got the truck washed. I was in a long
line, so everyone else had the same idea, I guess. They were too busy to wipe
it completely dry, but at least I got the salt off of it.
Back at work, I spent some time wiping everything down with
Clorox wipes. I had heard that one of the guys was ill on Thursday and didn’t
come in today. He called in and said he had the flu. I’ve had my flu shot, but
didn’t want to take any chances.
Then I started a research project for Jeff. It involved
switching from ManageEngine (our new tracking software) to SpiceWorks, PeopleSoft
and even RITES (a proprietary program written by Jake, back in the day) to try
and discover who owns what machine. Our (Michelle and I) previous “perfect”
system (just RITES and PeopleSoft) is all fncked up.
It was like a detective story, so it made the afternoon pass
quickly.
I must admit, I was only successful half the time.
Back home after work, I treated Caley and changed clothes.
I watched the news until 7:00 p.m. Then I thought about
dinner.
Sidebar: I know I have an addictive personality. But I never felt it as much as tonight. I can’t
have salad? But I want a salad, dammit!
Instead, I threw way both my lettuce and celery and asked
Chef Mike to cook me a turkey pot pie. And, he did.
I ate it, trying to get interested in TV. But, I gave it up
and went to bed. I was almighty tired…
Now you're making me hungry for donuts. You could have overnighted the leftovers.
ReplyDeleteI should have. Looney donuts are worth it!
