Labor Day Weekend – Day Two

I overslept on Sunday, as you may have guessed. But, I didn’t care! I’m on a three day weekend, dammit!

After processing the photos and posting the Blog entry, I went outside and watered the hanging plants.

Even though it was before noon, it was uncomfortably hot and humid. So, I decided to hell with the ToDo list, I was staying inside today.

I putzed a bit (wind the clock, water the snake plant, refill the pill box, etc.)

In the afternoon, I went out and watered the herb garden, the window box and he gardens along he back of the house.

I checked the vegetable garden and harvested two cucumbers and my first green pepper! I got a half sheet tray and harvested all the chives as well.

I sat on the bed watching DIY shows and snipped the chives up. This took a long time, but I ended up with a gallon baggie of them. I stuck them in the fridge after adding some to that store-bought potato salad. I chopped up the green pepper and put that in the potato salad as well.

It was getting late, but I took a nap. I woke up around 7:30 p.m. I ate some potato salad for a light dinner.

My back wasn’t loving the bed, so I read in the living room in my chair. After my nap, I wasn’t that tired and I stayed up until almost 1:00 a.m. I decided I better go to bed, but I had a lot of trouble falling asleep.

  1. Is that a tomato in there, too? How was the harvest this year?

  2. Yes, one of the heirlooms. Harvest was good for cukes and Italian tomatoes, not so good for the others.
