Tuesday, Tuesday…

It was still warm on Tuesday, but overcast. There was a cold front moving in and rain was predicted in the afternoon. I took the trash out to the road.

So, I got in my morning walk outside.

Vicky was sick on Monday and stayed home (Yanessa took care of her, she said). But she sent me a text today, saying she was still sick, but coming in, because she couldn’t afford two days off. I told her I understood, but to stay the hell away from me! I also told her to forget about tonight, as I hate being sick and I was not letting her in my truck.

Sidebar: We were supposed to go to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit for the WDET’s member party. It’s our local Public Radio station and, yes, I am a member. I wanted to meet Ann Delise and I figured Vicky could bring a ton of her business cards and network with rich white folks who “cared.”

But, when I saw her (from afar) she looked like shit and was coughing her lungs out. So, I scrapped my usual Newburgh Grill lunch (Tuesday’s it’s normally the ham and bean soup with a patty melt) and went to Westborn instead. I got two containers of their chicken noodle soup (always excellent) and went back to work. I went in back and gave Vicky some soup and crackers (I left it all at a distance and shouted to her) and then went up front and ate mine, reading a book.

It started to rain heavy here around 1:00 p.m. I didn’t care, as we are two inches below average for September and my gardens and lawn need it.

So, I walked inside at 3:00 p.m.

I thought about going to the WDET party alone (I really want to meet Ann Delise; she plays such interesting music on the weekends) but then decided against it. I was bone-tired from working outside these past few days. So, I went home at 5:00 p.m.

It had stopped raining, but it felt like the temperature had dropped 20 degrees! So, I quickly wheeled the trash can inside and went inside.

I decided it was a good thing to stay inside for a change as I’ve been too busy outside and have been ignoring cleaning the house.

So, after catching up on the news, I got to work. I started cleaning the living room. I was moving right along until I started getting the cat hair off the furniture. That took forever!!! Before I knew it, it was 7:30.

So, I quit and warmed up leftovers for my dinner. I watched my two NCIS shows and then went to bed.

Monday, Monday...

It had rained a little overnight and stayed overcast for most of the day.

I had the grilled chicken Caesar salad at Big Boy for lunch.

When I got home after work, I quickly changed and went outside.

I took a couple of photos for my Brother Carl. The bush in the old tree garden used to be in front, flanked by a hostas and a day lily. Now, because of the fence, it is in the back of the garden and I’ll need to plant some things in front of it. I dug all the dirt out between the tree and the fence and used it to fill in the flagstone. I still need a few more rocks to line the fence side, though.

Then I weeded the last portion of the English garden. I used my last four bags of mulch to cover it.

Sidebar: I’ll probably pick up another bag or two to fill in spots as needed, BUT I AM DONE!!!

Inside, it was almost 7:30 p.m. I washed up and then made dinner. I had picked up some cremini mushrooms and beef broth on Sunday, so I recreated my spoiled mushroom gravy from Saturday.

I let the sirloin patties bath in it for a while and then plated it with more wild rice. It was much better, LOL!

I was tired (I was tired when I woke up) so I went to bed at 9:00 p.m.

Suddenly Sunday

I slept in on Sunday, which meant everything (including the Blog post) was late. It also meant that my planned big breakfast (scrambled eggs with chives, thick cut bacon strips and homemade hash browns) went out the window. Instead, I choked down a piece of toast so my pills didn’t make me puke and shaved and showered.

Then I headed down the freeway to Canton.

I forgot to mention I went to Costco on Saturday to see if they had gotten my coffee in yet. They didn’t, so fnck them!

So, I rejoined Sam’s Club. I used to belong to it when it was in Westland but gave up my membership when they moved to Ford Road.

Then I got three boxes of coffee (just in case). I also got 24 bar towels.

Back home, I started the weekend wash and then went to the Post Office.  Back home again, I changed into my work clothes.

The concrete had set up, so I used my transfer shovel to put the dirt back around the fence posts.

Then I dug up the rest of the dirt in the tree garden and added it to the flagstones in the English garden.

I rearranged the rocks in the tree garden and added two bags of mulch to create a new garden inside the fence.

I turned around the mums, so the purple was showing.

Back inside, I made my signature shrimp scampi and ate ton of it. Delicious!!!

I watched the Lions lose another game (what did I expect?) and then went outside to see the "blood moon eclipse." Not that exciting here in Redford (it was cloudy),

Then I went to bed. I was bone tired.
