Friday, Finally!!!

I stopped at the Looney Bakery on the way into work and bought a dozen muffins.

Sidebar: NVH (the building where our segment of IT resides) had a morning client meeting the other day and brought in muffins. They looked great and I was sorely tempted to sneak into the conference room and steal one!

But, when I opened the box this morning, I was dumbfounded. They were oblong, not round! Dammit!!! That’s the first time ever the Looney Bakery disappointed me.

Sidebar: They did taste fantastic. But they just didn’t “look” right. Come on, guys. You eat with your eyes!

I went up to the Big Boy on Six Mile for lunch and got my usual. But, the trip up there annoyed me. They had Newburgh closed down to one lane while crews dug out and replaced the tar in the expansion strips. It made me nervous, being stopped repeatedly while guys were spraying tar inches from my truck.

Then I had a new waitress. No worries. I’m old, but can accept change. But, she brought my Caesar side salad with the dressing in a cup on the side. WTF???  How the hell am I supposed to dress a salad on a small, flat plate with just a fork and a knife?

I ended up leaving half of the undressed Romaine lettuce on the plate. Sigh…

I took Levan back to work to avoid the tar spray.

My old cubicle buddy, Michelle, was in the neighborhood and stopped by in the afternoon. Then Courtney stopped in with her new baby. So, it was like old home week.

Back home after work, I watched the news for a bit to catch the weather.

Sidebar: another mass shooting in a movie theater? Makes me glad I have Netflix. The world had gone crazy…

Then I started watering. I did the container gardens out front with the watering can and then dumped two gallons apiece on the mailbox garden and every rose bush with my little bucket.

Note: If the lack of rain continues, I will move to the oscillating sprinkler this weekend. I worked too hard on the front lawn to let it die! I hate the increased water bill, but f*ck it!!!

Back inside, it was almost 7:30 p.m. So, I started dinner.

I dove into the pantry shelves. I seriously need to cut back on the stock I have before the expiration dates role by. I used my Shun knife to cut a can of Spam into thin slices and then fried them while I “baked” two sweet potatoes in the microwave.

I ate that trying to find something interesting on TV (I think I have to go check out Netflix again. I pay for it but rarely use it). I failed, so I reread a book until bedtime.

Sidebar: I frankly like reading better than watching TV. I am my Mother's child, after all...

The Looney Baker also has googly eyes for the Os it its name. Are you not a fan of creativity? Just curious.

Creativity aside, I know how that goes. Sometimes you just want something you are used to and even something small can through you off! XO

  4. How's the cost compare to putting in a well just for irrigation purposes?

  5. Not sure. You'd have to find out if there is water on the property.
