Thursday, working it!

Thursday was warmer and sunny for a change. We only hit a high of 60 degrees, but the sunshine made up for it.

Vicky was unable get Office 365 to play with my Android operating system. She dropped it off after 9:00 p.m. and showed me how to work its word processor.

Sidebar: The tablet is more like using a smart phone then a computer, so none of this is intuitive to me! This is going to be a pain!!!

I told her I couldn’t afford to pay her the kind of consultant fee that Jake commands, but I would buy her lunch. She said, “Don’t be silly! You don’t owe me anything.”

I walked outside in the morning, but I walked fast!

Vicky sent me a text a little later. She informed me that Evy (her mother) had made enchiladas last night and she had some leftovers for her lunch. She said if that lunch offer was still available, she accepted and she’d give them to me for my dinner.

So, I took her to Red Lobster for lunch.

I practiced posting to the Blog in the afternoon. I tried it one way first and it worked, but took too many steps. Then I thought about it some more and figured out an easier way, so I tried that. Bingo!

So, I know how to do it. That’s not the problem. The problem is using the tablet, with all the swipes and hold your finger on the screen to do this or that. And the “keyboard“ is more sensitive that Jake’s mac! Sigh...

Today is the only sunny day predicted for the next four days! So, when I got home, I rushed inside, treated Caley, changed clothes and went out back. I gassed up the tractor and cut the back lawn.

Sidebar: With all the rain, the grass is twice as long as it should be.

I cut it going a little faster than I normally do and with a lot less care. But I got it done!

Sidebar: I never noticed it when it was short, but you can clearly see the difference in color for the old grass and where I re-seeded in the bobcat ruts. The new grass is much darker. It made me smile... Good times.

I put the tractor away, refilled the feeders and went out front. I got out the push mower and cut the front lawn. I had grass clippings everywhere! Again, I didn’t trim or use the blower, but at least the grass was cut.

I came in around 7:30 p.m. and was beat! I warmed up the enchiladas in a small skillet with a little water and a lid. The accompanying rice I warmed in the microwave. I put them together on a plate and ate my dinner.

Delicious! I think I was the winner on this trade!!!

I watched some TV, but went to bed by 10:00 p.m.

  2. No, not a tablet scamp! I hate the damn thing. I shouldn't have cheaped out and just bought a laptop instead. But, I'm gonna practice and try and be ready to use it to post in PR.

  3. Oh, took some photos of the grass tonight so you can (hopefully) see what I mean. It was much more noticeable when it was long.

So, now that you've gone mobile, no more excuses about late blogs!

  5. Except it will take me about an hour per paragraph, due to mistakes in touch screen typing!!!
