Rainy Days and Mondays

It was hot again on Monday. But, a cold front was supposed to move in around 4:00 p.m., and these 80 degree temps will be gone for the rest of the week. The cold front will also bring the risk of strong storms and tornado watches.

It was cloudy, hot and muggy when I took my morning walk.

I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch and got some beef vegetable soup and a mini Greek salad.

I checked the weather and radar showed a wide swath of storms streaming up the west side of the state. It was slowly moving north-northeast, so it may eventually reach us.

I got in my 3:00 p.m. walk, but at 4:10, the storm hit. It poured here and the Livonia warning sirens went off.

It slacked off a bit during my drive home (thanks) but then started pouring again. I was more worried about the wind, though. I treated Caley and watched the news while I changed clothes. They were already showing storm damage video from Westland and Inkster.

I went out in the garage, opened the door, and watched the rain while I worked.

I was drenched in sweat by the time I quit at 6:30 p.m. But, I managed to get the last two catches off. All I have left is three hinges (easy-peasy).

I watched the NBC Nightly News and then made dinner. I warmed up the rest of the steak and mushrooms, with two ears of sweet corn. It wasn’t as good as when it came off the grill (it never is) but it was still pretty damn good!

I watched an old favorite, “Born Losers” on Turner Classic Movies (the first time you meet Billy Jack). They were having a marathon of biker movies. But, I turned it off when “The Wild One” with Marlon Brando came on at 10:00 p.m. and went to bed.

  1. You not a fan of "The Wild One"? Jake is going to be none to pleased!

  2. No, I am a great fan of "The Wild One!" But I just saw it a little while ago and I was tired.
