Interesting Factoid

Those of you who know me well, know that I like to point out that the Polish Calvary in World War II is credited with the last know calvary charge in a major war.

Sidebar: It doesn't matter that they drew their swords and charged a line of German Tiger tanks, thus being cut down in a hail of machine gun bullets. They had balls!!!

Well, I recently came across another interesting fellow from World War II, Lieutenant Colonel Jack (Mad Jack) Churchill. He was know for leading commando charges with a Scottish broadsword.

But, he is also credited with the last know longbow kill in action, felling a German Sergeant with a barbed arrow to signal the start of an attack.

Truly the greatest generation!!!
