I was more tired than I thought. I woke up at 4:00 a.m. on
Thursday and decided that was too early, so I went back to sleep. I slept until
an amazing 7:30 a.m.!
I found Jake already hard at work upstairs (as I said, he
spent the day working from home) and Carla downstairs having a cup of coffee. I
joined her.
Later on, I had some banana bread Jake had baked for my
breakfast. He said he thought it was too dense, but I liked it!
In the late morning, Jake took a break and we took a quick
trip to the grocery store for a few last-minute items while Carla was prepping
for tonight’s dinner. When we returned, Jake returned to work on the computer.
Carla and I spent the day relaxing, watching T.V. and enjoying the outside air.
It was sunny and 85 degrees with a nice, delightful breeze.
Whisky and I took a long walk in their big back yard so I
could stretch my legs.
I got a call from my old cubicle buddy, Michelle. I forgot
to put an auto-reply on my phone at work saying I would be off. She wanted to
know the name of the plotter repair company we used several years back. But, I
don’t even recall that. At her suggestion, I asked Jake, but he didn’t
remember, either. She wished me a happy Easter and asked me to pass that along
to Jake and Carla, which I did.
Jake finally finished (or reached a good stopping point) and
I wrote my late-edition Blog post.
I watched the news while they made dinner.
Dinner was tikka masala. This is an Indian dish I had never
had before. It was chicken with some delicious, magically spiced sauce, with
rice and warm nan bread. It was fantastic!!!
Sidebar: I am seriously going to have to ask Taj at work
to start bringing me in her Mom’s leftovers. It works with Puerto Ricans, why
not people from Indian?
Dinner was great and your company is even better!
