Hump Day, hump day…

(Okay, so I’m running out of subject lines! Sue me.)

It was cold Wednesday morning outside, but I was sweating in bed. I decided it was time to take the extra blanket off the bed. It’s finally spring!!!

I put my coat in the truck, but didn’t wear it. My prediction (with the help of the Channel 4 weatherman) was that I wouldn’t need it.

And, I didn’t. It was warm enough to walk outside in the morning. So, I did.

At lunch, I went to Time Out. They had a special on two hot dogs and fries for $5.00 bucks. So, I got that. I substituted the German potato soup for the fries (the waitresses know me).

The soup needed more salt (Bob let me down) and the hot dogs (which I think I bragged about earlier) were NOT the usual natural casing ones and shorter than the last ones I had.

Since it was early, I took a drive through Hines Park before going back to work.

I walked outside at 3:00 p.m. again. The winds had picked up, but it was still pleasant.

When I got home after work, I left the truck in the driveway. I checked the porch (Jake’s been telling me to check my porch for about a week now) and, sure enough, there was something on it!

It was from “Boondocks Medical” in Oklahoma (I hope it’s not meds, LOL!) But, no, it was NOT prescriptions, but a case of twelve “Pillow Paws,” the non-slip socks I use daily! I sent both Jake and Carla a text, thanking them.

Jake sent back a text, telling me they didn’t want me to rely on pregnant women to buy them for me (Courtney had bought me a pair a while back). Carla said they didn’t want people picking on me in Spanish, LOL!

Sidebar: I knew it! They just don’t want me to be embarrassed by taking my last remaining yellow ones (from my spinal fusion) to Puerto Rico.

I quickly changed clothes (after treating Caley) and went out front. It was time to switch to the summer porch and yard decorations!

So, I switched the winter wreath to the forsythia on, hung up the bird houses and Mom’s sign and set the two bird feeders (decoration only – I don’t want bird shit all over the front porch, LOL) on the front railing. I also hung the three rope-climbing gnomes on their hook.

I took some photos and then took some shots of the spring front and side garden changes.

Back inside, I started the Wednesday night wash and returned some calls I’d gotten on the land line last the weekend from my brother Jim and my daughter Melissa.

Sidebar: I rarely look at that phone and never answer it. I don’t know why I still have it. CALL MY CELL!

Jim was golfing, so I talked to Coletta. Melissa was home, so I talked to her.

For dinner, I made tuna and peas. Rather than dirty another dish, I served it my brother Carl’s way: Over toast.

I watched some TV, but fell asleep. When I woke up, I shut the damn thing off and went to bed.

  1. I'm glad you like them! The garden looks great. Spring has sprung. Oh and never trust a $5 lunch special...that's how they get you!

  2. Yes, yes it has. 72 degrees today (Friday) and sunny. But we're supposed to get back to highs in the 50's and lows in the 30's next week. Michigan's a fickle biatch!
