Happy Friday, Everyone!

I woke up to the alarm on Friday. My removal of the extra blanket seemed to have worked, as I didn’t wake up sweaty.

It was sunny and warm, and I went to work with the driver-side window down. I walked outside at 10:00 a.m.

I went to Time Out for lunch. I skipped the specials and ordered the chicken quesadillas (I’ve been told they are delicious, but never tried them). I skipped the guacamole (I hate avocados) but asked for two sour creams and the salsa.

It was delicious, but I was full about halfway through.

(Insert “Burp” here)

From there, I went and got the truck washed. I was a long line and I had to laugh because, two cars in front of me was a Livonia police vehicle.

I took the long way back to work through Hines park.

I walked outside again in the afternoon. We eventually got to a high of 73 degrees here (according to my truck). The wind had picked up, but it was warm, so np.

I treated the cat (more than I should had, but she hadn’t barfed anyway today). Then I changed into a t-shirt and shorts. I went out back.

I used my pruning shears to cut back the big herbs. I switched to kitchen scissors to cut back the thyme. I’m not sure what will grow back just yet.

The chives are growing at a tremendous rate, BTW. I love having fresh herbs on hand!

I also cleaned out the state park grill. I should have done that last fall. My bad.

Back inside, it was almost 8:00 p.m. and I was tired.

So, I ate another pre-made salad with my new favorite dressing, watched some taped TV and then went to bed early.

  1. What do you do with the surplus herbs?

  2. How does one clean a state park grill?

  3. I think the next guy does it for you.

  4. @ Jake: I usually only freeze the chives. I leave the rest to die. I tried to dry them (if you remember I bought a hanging ring for drying but I never was satisfied with the end product.
@ Carla: I meant to clean out the ash and coals. I use a shovel, myself.
