It was 4 degrees when I woke up on Friday. But, the
weatherman swears this will be the last really cold day of winter! I can only
hope he’s right!
I had to go to the Credit Union at lunch, so I left 15
minutes early (The credit Union at noon on a Friday? I’d be there for hours!)
Luckily, I was just fourth in line so it wasn’t too long of a wait.
But I didn’t have time for a sit-down lunch, so I stopped at
Wendy’s. I wanted to try their new specialty item, the Bacon and Blue Burger.
They’ve been advertising it on TV and it sounded good. It’s a
burger that includes crumbled Wisconsin blue cheese, three strips of
applewood-smoked bacon, spring mix and blue-cheese aïoli on their toasted
brioche bun.
I ate it at my desk and it was excellent!
Sidebar: The only trouble with Wendy’s specialty sandwiches
is that they are always just limited-time. So, they go away!
I had my one-on-one with the new VP in the afternoon. We had
a rather frank conversation. At the end of it, he remarked that, while I might
have been the last team member he talked to, it was certainly the most candid
conversation he had had. I told him I was too damn old to lie.
Finally, I was headed home for the weekend!
It was still cold and windy. I got inside and stayed inside!
I was going to just make an egg sandwich for dinner, but
then I saw the rest of those ham chunks. I figured I’d better use them or lose
them so I made another omelet. This time I used a shallot instead of an onion.
When the eggs set, I topped them with shredded cheddar cheese again, folded it
over and plated it. This time, I remember to take a picture!
Sidebar: I should have wiped the edge of the plate, though.
Dammit! I got to work on my food styling!
I watched the Red Wings play the Calgary Flames, hoping I
could gloat over CC. But, alas, they beat us 5-2. So, she gets to gloat…
I went to bed. I hate to be gloated over…
How was onion v. shallot?
ReplyDeleteI liked the shallot better. More subtle.
