I woke up at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday. It was cold (so what
else is new?)
Sidebar: I always seem to bitch about the temperature here.
But, when I was down for Christmas, Jake added an app to my phone that tells me
the weather in Redford, Michigan, Columbia, South Carolina (Jake and Carla) and
Minneapolis, Minnesota (Amy and her Carls). So, now, when I’m upset about the
cold, I check on Amy’s and feel ashamed.
I got shaved and showered and dressed and then left for my
much-needed haircut. From there I went to Kroger’s and stocked up on protein: pork
loin, chicken breast, ground chuck, even little smokies and some thick-cut
bologna!
Next was Westborn for veggies and
cheeses. I talked with the cheese guy (always a mistake) and he kept cutting
off chunks of cheese for me to try. I ended up buying some Plava (a 12-month
old Italian cheese) and Westborn’s Mediterranean Sunset which has Kalamata
olives and sun-dried tomatoes.
I dropped everything at the house
and then left immediately for my 12:00 p.m. dentist appointment. On the way
back, I saw a car wash on Ford Road. So, I got the truck washed. It didn’t stay
clean long, but I was able to put my license tab on.
I got home and changed clothes.
Then I decided to take a nap. That was a mistake, by the way.
When I woke up, I made a bologna
sandwich for my dinner. I watched some TV and then switched to reading. I tried
to go to bed, but couldn’t fall asleep. It kept getting later and later and was
very frustrating!
I finally fell asleep around 5:00
a.m. and slept until almost 2:00 p.m.! No way could I load up the computer
table, drive to Marine City, then drive to Port Huron and get back home before
dark! Shit!
So, I decided to stay home. I
opened a can of crescent rolls and the smokies and baked them into Sunday
snacks. I plated them with some of the Dusseldorf mustard.
I watched several of the “Building
Alaska” shows. Then I switched to reading until I fell asleep at 1:00 a.m.
You may have just nailed Sunday! You made snacks and said to hell with it. Sounds about right!
