When I left for work on Wednesday, it was just starting to
snow. No big deal. But, by the time I got to Farmington and Plymouth Road, it
was getting slippery. And by the time I turned onto Market Street, I had to
turn on the four-wheel drive.
It snowed all morning long. It looked like a White
Christmas!
I had planned on going to Westland and the Red Robin for
lunch. I have it on good authority that they have great onion rings and I have
been jonesing about onion rings for a long, long time.
But it took me almost 10 minutes to clean the snow and ice
off the truck, and I decided it wasn’t worth it.
Sidebar: We had about three inches of snow on the ground at
that time. The main roads had been plowed and salted, though, so travel wasn’t
that much of a problem,
So, I went to Time Out and got a bowl of split pea soup (excellent,
if under salted – but I fixed that) and a turkey Rueben (bland – blah!)
Back at work, I read until 1:00 p.m. It was still snowing…
It had almost stopped when I went home at 5:00 p.m. The
roads were slushy, but not too bad, so it only took a few minutes extra to get
there.
Sidebar: We got a total of about four inches of snow here in Redford,
Once inside, I treated the cat, changed clothes and started
the Wednesday wash.
I ate the last two halves of leftover acorn squash for dinner. Once the
laundry was folded or hung up and all put away, I figured I’d pretty much nailed it
so I took the rest of the night off.
Can you switch to 4WD on the fly or is there stopping involved?
ReplyDeleteOn the fly. Not like the old days, LOL! They recommend you do it under 50 mph, though.
ReplyDeleteThe snow business is nuts...it was 66 degrees and sunny here yesterday!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations...you got more snow then I..we only got about 2 inches....light and fluffy.
ReplyDelete@ Carla: Not everyone is blessed to live in South Carolina!
ReplyDelete@ GPF.: I wish we only got two!
