Wednesday was the coldest night of the winter so far. It was
0 degrees here, but -17 degrees in Pontiac. I had my cupboard door opened under
the sink and the water dripping in the laundry tub, so I had prepared.
I bundled up and left for work. It was chaos! Both our network
and phone systems kept going down and then coming back up. The LAN-WAN folks
were running from MDFs to IDFs, trying to find the problem and our Telecom guy
was on the phone with AT&T.
My only problem is that I couldn’t work for the first couple
of hours. So, I was bored.
Since some people had worked half the night and would be
there late, the department bought pizza, salad and soda for everyone at lunchtime.
I had to do some grocery shopping, so I went to Larry’s
Foodland and got some russet potatoes, some breadcrumbs and a box of crimini
mushrooms.
Things calmed down a little in the afternoon. I never heard
what the problem with the network was (and probably never will), but Fred and
Doug were meeting with AT&T techs sometime after 5:00 p.m.
I took in the trashcan (the tubs were gone). I did the
Wednesday night wash. I was still sort of full from the pizza, so I didn’t make
the dinner I’d planned. I just made a bologna sandwich with yellow mustard and
lettuce when I got hungry.
I watched a couple taped shows and went to bed at 10:30 p.m.
You're the third person to mention bologna in a week. It must be a sign from the universe. What was the planned dinner? Something with crumbs and shrooms?
ReplyDeleteNope. Clam Shower. It's cold!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds freaky.
ReplyDeleteDude, Bologna is the new Spam! You folks down south didn't know that?
