Thursday, it was damn cold at first. Then the wind picked up
around 10:00 a.m. By lunchtime, it was god-awful outside.
I had to go to Lowe’s at lunch. Now, the handicapped parking
is maybe 75 feet from the door, but was completely exposed to the wind. By the
time I got inside, my feet, legs, groin, face and hands (yes, I had gloves on)
were in total shock!
Sidebar: Luckily for me, I didn’t plan on having more kids!
Seriously, I was stumbling around for a bit until the warmth
of the store started to heal me. Then I didn’t want to go back out, LOL!
It started to lightly snow just before 5:00 p.m. But the
drive home was uneventful.
Since I was already cold, I shot up into the attic and got
the other big tub of Christmas crap and a smaller, empty one.
I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat in the bedroom, watching the news and sorting through hundreds of ornaments, strings of lights and “stuff.”
I saved a few items. The one thing I couldn’t find was a
little blue metal bell my Mother gave me years ago. She said it was my favorite
ornament to hang on the tree when I was a child. Haven’t seen it since St Clair
and it sure isn’t here…
So, I have the two big tubs to put out to the road and the
small one to put back in the attic. It was after 8:00 p.m. when I finished, so
I made some dinner. I have leftovers, but my chilled body said, “CARBS!” So, I
made a blue box of mac & cheese and ate most of it.
I was looking for something else when I came across my new license
tabs and registration. I got them in mid-December and apparently forgot to put
them on. I’ll put them in the car and put them on the next time I get the truck
washed.
I watched a fascinating program about the Black Death plague
in Europe in 1497. Seriously, it was very interesting. Then I went to bed.
Note: It was still snowing...
Walking in a winter wonderland...kinda!
ReplyDeleteSorta, but I would question the "wonderland" part of your comment!
