Finally Friday…

I woke up late on Friday morning and realized I would be a few minutes late to work. So, I sent my boss a text, letting her know and asking her NOT to send a posse.

We had a going-away luncheon for our lead tech, Anthony, at (where else?) Buddy’s. Vicky was hung up dealing with some sort of problem, so she asked me to save her a seat and place her order for her. She told me she wanted two little Buddy pineapple pizzas, ranch dressing on the side and cup of tortilla soup. I said, “You want two?” She said yes and even wrote it down for me.

So, I ordered the antipasto salad and a cup of tortilla soup for me and told the waitress Vicky’s request. She said, “Two little buddy’s? Why not just order the four piece one?” I said, “I dunno, that’s what she wanted.” I had just about decided she was going to take the other home, either for herself or her mother.

I had them hold her order in back to keep it warm, so they brought it out when she arrived. She looked at it and said, “Why are there two?” I said, “That’s what you said and that’s what you wrote down, dammit!” She said, “No, I meant the two piece one!”

Cultural differences, I guess.

I offered to pay for “my” mistake and she refused. In fact, she paid for my lunch since (as she put it) she owed me one.

The afternoon passed slowly, as only a Friday/payday can. It was difficult to say goodbye to Anthony, as I liked him.

One the way home, I stopped at Home Depot and got the two sizes of brad nails that I was out of.

I treated Caley and changed clothes. Then I got on the computer. I made my lists, paid some bills online and wrote out two checks to mail on Saturday. Then I balanced my checkbook.

By that time it was almost 8:00 p.m. and I was hungry. So, I warmed up the last of the kielbasa and sauerkraut. I watched a documentary about ninja’s on some obscure channel. Then I switched to reading until bedtime.
