The weather forecast wasn’t good, and it started to rain
around here about 11:00 a.m. It wasn’t that heavy (I did go out for lunch) but
in the afternoon, that all changed. It rained hard, with a strong wind.
Sometimes the rain on the office roof drowned out conversation!
Luckily, it died down about 4:30 p.m. and I only had to use
the wipers on the way home when somebody kicked up some spray (there was standing
water everywhere).
I was going to go out and check the rain gauge, but the rain
picked up just after I pulled in the garage (thank you, Lord!) So, I checked it
with my bird-watching binoculars. There
was over 1 1/2-inches of rain in it!
As you know, I wasn’t here for the big rain event last
month. But they had pictures today on the evening news showing expressway after
expressway flooded. Seeing what a quick one and a half inches of rain can do, I’m
glad I missed that five inches of rain!!!
I started the Wednesday night wash and then hauled some
things into the attic, starting with my suitcase. I’ve let them build up in the
office and they were getting out of hand.
I did the Wednesday wash.
I warmed up some taco meat and the refried beans, assembled two tacos and ate
a filling (if somewhat burpy) dinner.
I watched “Death Proof” again and remembered seeing it in
the movie theater. Good times, man, good times…
I love me some Tarantino.
