Random Thoughts from a Late Night Dream...

When I was in my early 20's (before my signature motorcycle accident) I took a solo road trip out west in a Chevy Vega. I went to Yellowstone and then down through the Rockies to the Grand Canyon. I never crossed the Great Divide and have always regretted that...

I learned many things, but two came back last night in a dream.

1. I taught myself to drive with my left foot on the gas pedal as the car didn't have "cruise control" (I don't remember if it had been invented yet in the early 1970's and my right leg got tired).

2. You learned to fill up at any gas station you came to. In Wyoming or the Dakotas, the next gas station you might see was like a million miles away.

  1. Wasn't there something about shutting off your engine, too?
