Day Two - Resting Up

I woke up late on Thursday in SC at the amazing time of 6:30 a.m. It was amazing (at least to me) considering I went to bed around 9:30. I apparently don't travel as well as I used to.

Outside, it was beautiful on the patio. I enjoyed the cool air for a while, knowing it wouldn't last.

Carsl and I went on a quick errand run in the morning. Since we weree out, we had brunch at a nearby restrauant. Carla had an omlet and I had two over easy eggs, two biscuits with sausage gravy and "country" potatoes (whatever that means - they were well-seasoned potatoes). Mine was excellent.

Then we went to Home Depot,  Kroger's and the Old Time Meat Market (for my onion sausages). It was 90+ degrees before noon here!

We spent the afternoon chilling, until just before Jake got home. We decided a simple dinner would be best, so I fine-diced an onion. Then I grilled some Kogel's hot dogs (from Michigan) and warmed up the buns while Carla heated up some Bush's Beans and sauerkraut.

Sidebar: It's been a long time since I grilled with gas, so I was disappointed my grill marks weren't all that good. But the dogs tasted good.

When Jake arrived, we built our hot dogs, added some beans to our plates along with a handful of Better Made potato chips (also from Michigan) and feasted.

We watched some TV while we chatted, but went to bed around 9:00 p.m. again. This time I read until I fell asleep at 10:30 or so... Nice, relaxing day.
