I’m tired of telling you exactly how cold it is here, so let’s
just say it was damn cold Monday morning. I made an impulse buy at Kroger’s
Saturday and it paid off this morning. I bought some Pepperidge Farm Swirl
bread (this one was raisins and cinnamon) and had two pieces toasted for
breakfast. Yummo!
The road into work had snow in spots, but it wasn’t treacherous.
I went home at lunchtime. I made a quick stop at Meijer’s.
The squirrels had broken my bird feeder, so I bought a new one. This one has a
metal cage around it so squirrels can’t get to the seed.
I ate two pieces of the onion sausage for my lunch and then
headed back to work.
When I got home after work, I switched my shoes for boots
and took the new feeder out back. I filled it up and realized one shortcoming:
It only holds about half of what the old one did. On the other hand, without
the squirrels eating the seed, maybe it will last just as long.
I kept my boots on and took the trash can (with the old bird
feeder inside) out to the road. A neighbor across the road in the townhouses
called out a “hello” and asked how I was doing. I said I was doing fine, just
sick of the cold and snow. She laughed and agreed.
I went back inside, took off my boots and then changed
clothes.
I sat down at the computer and started to do my income
taxes. Now, I hate doing those, but its time, I guess. I worked about a half an
hour, saved it and quit for the night.
I watched the Nightly News and then went to get some dinner.
I warmed up more of the garlic parmesan chicken and wild rice. It still tasted
good.
I went in and watched an old movie, “Dances with Wolves”
until I was tired (it’s a long movie). Then I shut it off (I’ve seen it many
times before) and went to bed.
re: "I ate two pieces of the onion sausage for my lunch and then headed back to work." How was my sausage?
ReplyDeleteI, too, am curious if there's any flavor difference when you eat sausage intended for someone else.
ReplyDelete@GPF: It was delicious!
ReplyDelete@Jake: There is a slight taste difference. It took me a while to figure out, but it tastes like it was seasoned slightly with guilt...
