Friday, it was snowing lightly and windy, but a little
warmer. I at some toaster-warmed waffles for breakfast. They were better than
the microwaved ones, but still nowhere near as good as fresh. Then I drove to
work.
I had to go to Bed Bath and Beyond at lunch. It was still
cold, windy and snowing.
After work, I made my first attempt at sweating the pipe. I think
the hardest part was to keep the torch lit! I’d get it going just right, tip it
to use it and then it would go out!
I did get the elbow heated up enough to boil the flux and take the
solder, but I was worried whether it was too hot or too cold. I dunno. I
managed to get it done (if, in fact, it’s done right) and not set anything on
fire, which was a plus!
[Sidebar: I had a fire extinguisher within arm’s reach, just
in case.]
It was after 8:00 p.m. so I just let it cool overnight.
I warmed up some of the pork, the roasted onions and
potatoes for my dinner.
I decided I was getting into a rut with these Olympics, so I
watched boxing instead. Then I went to sleep.
