I shouldn’t tell you this (I don’t want to discourage anyone
regarding living in or visiting Michigan) but it snowed again overnight night
and we had 1-2 more inches of snow on the ground Tuesday morning. This made the
morning commute into work a lot more treacherous than Monday’s drive. But then
again, the road crews had all Sunday to try and clean up the seven inches from
Saturday.
I had to go to Office Max at lunch, so I stopped into Time
Out and had a cup of “American Beef and Macaroni Goulash” (a soup that was as unusual
as its name) and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Then I drove to Office Max.
It started snowing again around 1:00 p.m., but it was warm
enough outside that it just melted on the cars and the salted parking lots. So, the
ride home wasn’t bad.
When I got home after work, I was pleasantly surprised to see
my neighbor had busted out the drift the snow plow had created in front of the
mailbox and driveway. He didn’t plow the driveway, but as I said, I had
compacted the snow down. Still, thanks, Rick!
I got in the trashcan and went inside. I treated the cats
and changed clothes. Then I spent a while disconnecting the washer and dryer.
Why?
I wasn’t going to mention this, but I also bought a new
washer and dryer. Again, why? Well, because currently I am still working and
they are almost 14 years old. So, I thought (right or wrong), it would be
better to replace them now when I can still afford it.
They are supposed to deliver them tomorrow. So, I moved them
both out onto the hard tile and then washed the press-and-stick tile I put
under them years ago. It was disgusting, BTW. You have no idea how much crap
builds up under your washer and dryer!
I warmed up the potato, bacon and cheese soup (again) and
cut three more chunks off my loaf of crusty bread. Then I dished up a big bowl
of soup and ate another delicious dinner.
I watched the new NCIS episode and then the new NCIS – Los Angles.
It ended at 10:00 p.m. so I went to bed.
Gas dryer? If so, I may have a buyer.
