Friday was another in a string of nice Fall days, cool in
the morning, but warming up into the 70’s by late afternoon.
I had a busy lunch hour. First I went to Bed, Bath and
Beyond (with my last 20% off coupon) and bought a humidifier. I bought the same
exact one I had before. It was not too expensive, worked great for three years
and I still had some of the demineralization cartridges it uses left. So, I simply
replaced it.
Then I went to another antique shop, looking for old books.
Found three likely ones. When I was paying for them, the lady asked me if I was
starting a library. I laughed and explained my project idea. Both of the women
behind the counter were delighted and begged me to bring in a photo when I’m
done, so I promised I would.
As you know, I have dwelt a lot on losing my doctor. I
decided to write her a note, thanking her for being there for me over the
years. So, I did and mailed it from work.
When I pulled in the garage after work, the phone was
ringing, but they hung up before I could get to the phone. So, I treated the
cats and then checked the voicemail. It was my doctor! She said it was nothing
urgent, she just wanted to talk to me and would I call back on Monday. I tried
calling back right then, but only got the “the doctor’s office is now closed”
recording. Damn!
I guess I’m not the only one who needed closure.
I changed clothes and then got started on my Friday night
routine. I paid some bills online, balanced my check register and then started
on lists. I got the grocery list and the ToDo list completed. It was doing the
ToDo list that reminded me the Township recycling day is this Saturday (they have
them four times a year).
So, I went up in the attic and wrestled that old monster TV
down. I wanted to do that for years, but haven’t been physically able to. I
managed to get it down without hurting myself or dropping it, so I was pleased.
It was close to 8:00 p.m. and I was hungry. So, I stopped
and made dinner: tuna and peas, served over wide egg noodles. I would have
taken a picture for you, but tuna and peas are NOT pretty! :P
I watched a taped TV show and then went to bed when it was
finished.
