Wednesday was hot and sticky. You could feel the humidity
when you walked out the door, even in the morning. Unfortunately, that made the walk outside
at 10:00 a.m. less than pleasant.
I went to Westborn Market at lunch. I got the items on my scrawled list, browsed
a bit, ran into my Latino friend and thanked her for the Abodo sauce recipe and
browsed a bit. I bought some veggies,
apples and lemons. I did make one impulse buy: a beautiful bunch of beets. I had just enough time to take my stuff home, make a quick
sandwich, wolf it down and then head back to work.
The walk in the afternoon was even more uncomfortable.
Back home after work, I talked briefly with Jake about the
bike. I had noticed the Impatiens were drooping when I drove in. So, next, I
watered all the container plants. Then I watered the new grass. I gratefully
went back inside and started the Wednesday wash. I also fired up the dishwasher
as the dirty plate from lunch just about filled it up.
I finally got around to hooking up the VCR. I did get it to
play, so I know I got that right. Next will be to see if it can record, some other time.
I hung the pants and shirts and then folded the rest. It was
already 7:30, so I started dinner. I warmed up the last pork chop. For my side
dish, I chopped the beet greens and then dropped them into boiling water. I served
them with a good splash of white vinegar on top (just like my Mother did).
Both were excellent! I had to force myself to put the rest
of the beet greens in the fridge, rather than eating them, LOL!
Then I finally cut open my DVD of the movie, Vanishing Point.
And watched it!!!
I went to bed before 11:00.
