We’re having a heat wave…

Tuesday: Another hot, humid day! As a lady friend of mine posted on Facebook, it was a day filled with boob sweat of epic proportions!

I went home for lunch and got the apple I forgot to take in this morning. I also retrieved my trashcan.

I left the car’s sunroof closed and the windows up in the afternoon as it looked like it might rain at any second. But, it never did.

When I got home, however, there were puddles in the driveway that weren’t there at lunch. Curious, I changed clothes and went out back. There was another half inch of rain in the gauge that I’d emptied at noon!!! When they say “isolated, pop-up showers,” they mean it.

I worked in the garage, straightening things and putting things away. I’d work for 20 minutes or so, then go in the house and sit a bit in the air conditioning. Then I’d go back to work. I worked until about 7:15 PM. By that time, I had accomplished my goal: making enough space so I could put both the car and the trailer inside. It’s amazing how much room you can get by building a big-ass shed and filling it up with your garden and lawn stuff!

I have more work to do on the trailer, you see. I found that the end that you plug into the car plug for the lights, turn signals and stop lamps was gone! The trailer’s just been sitting out back for a couple of years now, so I’m guessing I unknowingly cut it off with either the push mower or the string trimmer. So, I need to buy a new one and wire it on.

But not tonight. It was too hot, I was tired and I decided I needed to take a break. I went inside and took a rinse-off shower. Then I ate the last of the potato salad for a refreshingly cold supper.

I watched the newest taped episode of Longmire and then went to bed just before 10:00 PM.
