It was a beautiful day on Thursday, weather-wise. I stopped
at Home Depot on the way into work and picked up a new outlet and a replacement
plug for my circular saw.
I ate lunch at the Time Out and spent the rest of my lunch
hour taking a drive through Hines Park.
The afternoon was a little more difficult as it was hard to
stay awake (I only had about four hours of sleep due to that stupid hockey
game).
When I got home, I changed my clothes and took a walk around
the yard, checking for storm damage. I had some branches down, but no big limbs.
I had two inches of water in the rain gauge (and this time I KNOW it was empty).
And, most importantly, the inside of my shed was dry! I assumed
it would be but thought I should check. If it could take the rain we had last
night, its sound!
Back inside, I took the faceplate off the fuse box and
checked the current at each breaker. One of my ideas was that the breaker
failed and said it was “on” but there was really no current. But, every one of
them had power. I put it all back together and went inside.
I brought in the circular saw, the new plug, a couple of screwdrivers,
razor knife and wire strippers. I sat on the bed and fixed my saw. Then I fixed
some dinner by mixing together and warming up more of the sausage, sauerkraut
and potatoes. It still tasted great! I watched a little TV but went to bed just
after 9:00 AM.
