Friday was cold and dreary, with a north wind. If it wasn’t’
for the fact that it WAS Friday and Payday, the day would not have had much
going for it.
I saw on the news that it was National Donut Day. So, I
stopped at the Looney Bakery and got 18 bagels and a tub of cream cheese for
the troops at work. There is no real correlation between those two facts, BTW,
other than I realized I was supposed to be covering for Michelle while she was
on vacation and she would have brought something in. So, I did.
I went home for lunch and saw that the gas prices have gone
up again. Most stations had their regular for $4.19 now. I saw one that was
still at $4.05, but I just had a few bucks in my wallet. So, I ate a quick
lunch, got some cash from the ATM and then went back to that station and filled
up my tank. I did have to wait for a pump, though, as there were many people at
that gas station. Ridiculous!
Vicky’s Mom had sent me some food, so I made sure I had that
before I left at 5:00 PM.
I had a list of things to do outside, but it was cold and
windy as I said, so I would have had to work in a jacket. Plus, I felt worn out
and wanted to get a lot done over the weekend, so I decided to take the night
off. I tuned the heat back on, BTW.
I paid some bills online and balanced my check register. I filled
out my extensive ToDo list and created a Home Depot shopping list. Then I
warmed up Evy’s dinner.
This time it wasn’t Puerto Rican food, it was Mexican. I
should have taken a photo of how she packages leftovers (every time). Unlike
myself who mixes everything together for a dinner and then puts the leftovers
away, she packages all the ingredients separately in little containers and/or
baggies. Vicky said she does that so things won’t get soggy the second time you
eat them.
Tonight’s dinner was a Chunky Beef Burrito with a side of
rice. So, I had a container of beef chunks (like stew meat) in a sauce, another
container of beans, a baggie of cheese, a baggie of rice and a tortilla wrapped
in cling wrap. I warmed up the various ingredients and assembled my dinner.
I had to eat the burrito with a knife and fork (it was too
big to hold) but it and the rice were excellent! Nice to eat somebody else’s
home cooking for a change. Thanks!
I watched one TV show at 8:00 PM. When it was done, so was
I. So I went to bed at 9:00 PM.
