Black Friday

I woke up on Friday morning at the usual time, not necessarily bright eyed and bushy tailed.

I posted the Blog entry and then went back to bed. I woke up for real at 10:30 AM. I checked my outside thermometer and it was 35 degrees F. (with a pretty strong wind); Nothing that inspired me to get outdoors!

So, instead, I warmed up some of yesterday's coffee and ate the pumpkin cheesecake for breakfast. OMG! Yumo!! Now I wish I hadn't fallen asleep so I could have eaten a piece last night! It tasted like pumpkin pie, only much, much lighter.

I had to run out and buy some more postage stamps, so I stopped at a nearby little market and paid too much for some Miracle Whip and white bread. Why Miracle Whip when I only use Hellmann's Mayonnaise? It's probably something from my childhood, but a turkey sandwich never tastes "right" unless it's on white bread with Miracle Whip and lots of salt.

Back home, I made a sandwich and added a couple of pepperoncini to the plate. It tasted so damn good I made another one and used the last two pepperoncini. So, displaying a huge amount of inner strength, I put off eating the next sandwich until I opened a fresh jar of pepperoncini, took out two and replaced them with three cloves of garlic and added some Italian herbs. I screwed the lid on tight, shook up the jar and put it in the fridge to get cold. Then, and only then, did I eat the second sandwich!

I watched TV off and on while doing chores. There was a "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" marathon on the Food Network. I watched that until 7:30 PM, when I switched to an uncut version of the "Ninth Gate," one of my favorite Johnny Depp movies. Then I switched back to the Food Network until bedtime.
