I got up reluctantly on Monday morning. I didn’t sleep well (it felt like I didn’t sleep at all) and so I was dragging it.
At lunchtime, I didn’t eat any lunch, just set the alarm and took an hour nap. It was sunny, but not too humid.
I felt better in the afternoon.
Back home after work, I took out my pruning shears and cut the backside of my neighbor’s bush. Now, I really like this bush. It turns a beautiful red in the fall (I may have posted pictures in previous years). But the damn thing slaps me in the face when I walk by with the push mower. So, I cut it back wherever it came over the fence. I had to get the bow saw for two or three thicker branches, BTW. I loaded up an overflowing wheelbarrow, took them out back and dumped them. Then I picked up all the refuse from my earlier bush cutting efforts and dumped them, too.
Next, I gassed up the tractor, checked the oil and the tire pressure and headed out to cut the back lawn. I got that done (and it looked so nice I took a photo, along with the bush I trimmed) and put the mower away. I watered the grass seed I’d planted, filled the bird bath and then the bird feeder. I came inside and it was 7:00 PM and 81 degrees F. here in Redford.
I posted the pictures and went on to make a simple dinner. When I was at Westborn, I made an impulse buy of a tray of Brussels sprouts. I was gonna do Carla’s recipe (with bacon) but decided just to boil them. So, I did.
While they were cooking I chunked up the cantaloupe and the honey dew melons and put them in the fridge to get cold.
I ate about half of the Brussels sprouts with just butter and salt and they were GOOD!
I watched a new Hercules Poirot movie I’d taped on the PBS station and then went to bed.
