Sunny Sunday

I didn't get out of bed until an amazing 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. It was sunny, but still cold. However, it was supposed to get up to 60 degrees today!

I made scrambled eggs for breakfast. Then I started a load of laundry.

I was reading my book in the morning, waiting for the temperature to warm up. I wanted to start picking up the trash in the yard.

I ate more pasta salad for lunch.

It did get up to 60 degrees but with a wind. Since it was supposed to get even warmer on Monday, I decided to wait until then to work outside (retired people can do that). But I did go out and got the trash from the front yard. I went out back and took pictures of the mess.

Also, I noticed some of the 4 x 4's that were next to the fence had floated out with the last rain/lake.

Back inside, I cut four baby red potatoes in half and put them in my largest sauce pan. I covered them with a bag of sauerkraut and slices of Polish kielbasa. I brought that to a boil and then let it simmer.

My daughter Melissa called. She was taking a break from raking her front yard. We talked of many things.

I ate dinner, using horseradish with the kielbasa. It was very good. Nice Sunday supper!

Amanda called, asking if I wanted to go play Bingo. It was a last minute thing. I didn't feel like getting cleaned up, dressed and driving to Dearborn, so I declined (with regret). I wish she would have called me earlier!

Nothing on TV looked that interesting, so I went back to reading in the living room. I dozed off around 10:30 p.m. When I woke up at 2:00 a.m., I went to bed.
