Monday Moanin'

I slept like crap, waking up almost every hour on the hour. I finally gave up at 5:00 a.m. and got up.

I ate some oatmeal watching the news. Then I shaved, showered and got dressed. I was way too early for my 9:30 a.m. IV, but was tired of being home. So, I went and got the truck washed first. It's supposed to be nice (sunny and warm) until Thursday.

I always see the doctor (in the IV room) on Monday. She asked me how I was responding to the IV antibiotics. I told her the yogurt fixed the throwing up, but I still have diarrhea. She asked how often and I told her I didn't really pay attention. She said to pay attention and if it's more than five times a day, I should tell the nurses. Then they can check me for something or another (I forget the medical term) and, if I have it, they will need to administer yet another antibiotic to kill the bad bacteria in my stomach.

I was not happy about that.

She checked out my leg and said it was still leaking, but not as much. She said she thought the current treatment of the IV and oral antibiotics was keeping it down, but that I should realize I would most likely have to take oral antibiotics for the rest of my life.

I was really not happy about that!

On that happy note, I drove home.

I went out back to see if I had any branches come down with Sunday's high winds. There were small ones here and there, but a big one broke off a tree in the vacant lot next store and landed on the sailboat.

I'll get it down tomorrow when its supposed to be 60 degrees.

On a brighter note, the crocus and daffodils are popping up, so Spring is right around the corner.

Amanda asked if I wanted to go to lunch after she finished work at 1:30 p.m.  I was sick to death of being in this house alone, so I immediately accepted. We met at Panera's. She had her usual broccoli and cheese soup while I went with the baked potato soup.

Back home, I watched some DIY shows and then the news. I made a can of roast beef hash with grilled onions for dinner.

My brother Carl called to see how I was doing. I told him the latest news and he said he bet I really regretted that bike ride back in the day. I thought about it afterwards. In spite of me smashing the shit out of my leg and having to be trucked out to an ambulance on the hood of a jeep, I don't. It was a good day and I have a picture just before the accident to prove it (if I could only find it).

I switched over to the SYFY network and watched the Lone Ranger (the one with Johnny Depp as Tonto) until 10:30 p.m. I messed around on the computer for a while and then I went to bed, hoping to get some sleep..
