Monday Moanin'

We were supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow, starting around 3:00 a.m. But, when I went to pee at 3:00 a.m., nothing was happening. Same thing when I got up at 5:00 a.m. When I really woke up for good, (around 7:00 a.m.) it was lightly snowing.

I grabbed a cup of coffee and watched the morning news shows, while I did the antibiotics thing. I was rapidly filling up the trash basket I put in the living room.

I had thawed out the last half of a ham slice. So, I warmed that up and ate it with two eggs over easy and toast. I wished I had some hash browns, but I don't.

The morning passed slowly.

I got to thinking about hash browns. Could I have boiled some potatoes and then grated them? Then fried them? I dunno... What the hell are hash browns, anyway?

Sidebar: These are the kinds of things you think of when you are stuck in the house with just a cat to talk to...

I boiled a box of penne pasta for lunch and ate some with butter, salt and pepper.

Sidebar: I seriously need to get to the grocery store. I have enough in the pantry to survive, but no meat!!! I need some meat!!!

Amanda sent me a text. She was out of work and on her way to Botsford hospital. Seems her dad had a kidney stone too big to pass and was going to be operated on.

I spent the afternoon on the web (while not sleeping). I am trying to get my Dutch oven cleaned. I burned it up making the split pea soup, along with the split peas, a box of chicken broth and a whole pound of diced ham. I was pissed. I put it on the stove (after soaking all day) with dish detergent and white vinegar.

I gave it up at 8:00 p.m. and administered my antibiotic dose. I turned the stove off (I am learning) and went to watch TV.

I nodded off, again.

Yes John, boil some potatoes (but keep them a little firm), and then when cool, grate . Use just like the frozen ones. I have even used raw potatoes, grated with onion.
