Monday, Monday...

I woke up to a chilly Monday morning. I had some coffee and oatmeal while watching the news. But (I learned Monday night), I forgot to take my pills! Dumb.

I finally shaved, showered and got dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. It was warming up nicely so, I pulled the truck outside.

I got the toy box into the truck bay and onto the 2x4's. Then I sanded the bench arms. It took a long time to get the excess wood putty off and all the edges smooth. Then I screwed on the hinges.

Sidebar: She will have to take them off before she either paints or stains it, but I wanted the hinges in the proper place. Besides they will be easier to screw back on that way.

I finally put on the felt feet (they will protect their wood floors and help to level it, if necessary). Finally, after all this time, the toy box was done!!!

I posted this on Facebook and Amanda saw it. So, she called and offered to take me out to lunch when she got off work as a "Thank you."

Free lunch? Sure!

So, we met at Panera's (by Home Depot). I got the half sandwich (steak and arugula) and a cup of the broccoli cheddar soup. She had a half sandwich of ham and Swiss and a cup of the same soup.

After eating, she left to pick Keldon up from school and I went to Home Depot. The downstairs toilet lid is broken (okay, I admit, its been broken a while now), so I bought a new one to replace it.

I also bought some wood for the next project, a cradle for Annie's baby (due in December). But, this time I have a tight timeline because, after that, I have to make Betsy's shelves and now a Farmhouse style dining room table and benches for Courtney and Mike (their little table won't cut it with three kids).

Sidebar: I also have to insulate the garage wall and get the drywall up, so I can organize my garage before winter. I would like to work on my porject without having to continually pull the truck outside.

Being retired is a lot of work!!!

I emptied all the trash baskets and recyclables into the bins and took them out to the road. I had about half a bag of kitchen trash that, after filling with any trash I make tonight, I will take out first thing in the morning.

It was a beautiful day, so I sat on the porch enjoying it for a long while.

Back inside, I replaced the toilet lid. I threw the old one in the trash bin. I got in the mail while I was out there. It was handy, as I threw most of it in the recycle bin, LOL!

I did get my new Medicare card (both part A & B) and I put that in my wallet.

I got the toy box (seemed much heavier with the lid on, but it may be my imagination) out of the way and pulled the truck inside for the night.

It was almost 7:00 p.m., so I warmed up more soup (running low, now) and ate that half ham sandwich I had left over for my dinner.

I watched taped TV for a while and then dozed off for a bit. I woke back up around 10:00 p.m. so I watched one more show and then went to bed.
