I woke up early on Thursday, but kind of eased into the day (when you're retired, you can do that).

I filled out the Blog post and then did some online banking. When the sun came up, there was a light fog.

Finally, I shaved, showered and got dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.

I decided that my main project today was to clean the house (it's been two weeks and there was cat hair everywhere).

So, after the morning news ended, I got out the vacuum cleaner and got to work. I had to empty it twice just vacuuming the living room rug and furniture! Then I vacuumed the downstairs walk-off carpet.

Next, I swept the kitchen floor and all the wood floors.

Then I had to lay down for an hour...

I did get a call from one of the other two grass cutting services. We chatted for a while (he said he had picked up a lot of former JonBoy customers). He said he would swing by when he had the chance, check out the yard and give me a quote. I asked him to please hurry as the grass was getting way too long.

When I had rested up, I went into the kitchen and cleaned the microwave, the stove top and the kitchen counters. I decided to wait until tomorrow to do the dusting and glass cleaning.

The sun had burned the fog off and it was another lovely day. So, I went out front and sat on the porch for an hour or so.

Sidebar: It was funny. I had posted on Facebook that I was sitting on the porch, enjoying a gorgeous day yesterday. So, when Amanda called to check on me (Victoria and Amanda do this on almost a daily basis), she said, "I see you're playing porch monkeys without me?" I told her it wasn't as much fun without someone to talk to, but it was too nice to stay inside.

Back inside, I drank a bottle of Ensure for lunch and took a nap.

Then I did a load of laundry while watching DIY TV shows.

I couldn't figure out what to make for dinner that was bland, but I ended up "baking" a potato in the microwave. I had to eat it with just butter, salt and pepper as I am out of sour cream. It was bland, all right. In fact, it was boring.  But I did manage to eat about half of it.

I watched more TV (I swear I'm going to get bed sores) and went to bed at 10:00 p.m.

  1. Thanks for giving me what you have.....I cannot stand from sitting without extreme pain, and can't walk.

  2. Oh, man! I'm sorry. We are falling apart!!!
