Warmer Wednesday

It was warmer on Wednesday, which I appreciated.

I went to the Newburgh Grill for lunch and got a cup of split pea soup and a patty melt. It also gave me a chance to wish the owner and his two waitress a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  All three have been there for as long as I have been eating there (which is a long, long time).

From there I went and joined a long line of cars and trucks at the car wash. I know when the snow melts, it will just get dirty again, but I am sick and tired of brushing up against it and getting salt on my coat and/or pants! Apparently everyone in Livonia had the same idea!

Back home, I started cleaning the house. I like to clean the house before going on a trip. First, its nice to come home to a clean house (minus the new, vacation, cat hair. And, second, if I should die while gone, I don't want people coming into the house and say, "Man, John lived like a pig!"

Victoria called around 9:00 p.m. so I stopped cleaning and talked for a bit.

I didn't get the office or bedroom floors swept but after sitting down to talk, I realized how tired I was. So, I packed my suitcase (as much as I could) and then went to bed.

It might just be a Christmas thing. I noticed long lines earlier today but I rarely wash the outside of the car down here. A good rain is usually only a few weeks away.
