Tuesday

The weatherman said it would be a whopping 37 degrees today, so I left my heavy coat, hat, scarf and gloves at home. Granted it was only four degrees at the time, but since I only had to walk outside twice (to take the trashcan out to the road and from the truck to the building), it wasn't bad.

But...

When I went to lunch, the wind had picked up (25 mph with gusts up to 40!), so I froze my ass off.

I went to Big Boy. I was chilled just walking across the parking lot, so I got a bowl of chicken noodle soup and a Slim Jim. I didn't want anything cold!

I wished my two favorite waitresses a Merry Christmas when I left.

From there, I went across the parking lot (in the truck) to Busch's grocery store and bought some cat food. They were out of Caley's kind at Kroger.

Back home after work, I retrieved the trashcan and got the mail. Back inside, I treated the cat and turned on the news. The weather man mentioned that in 11 minutes, the space shuttle would be passing overhead. he said to look low in the sky in the Northwest.

So, intrigued, I went outside. But, northwest from my patio is the Planet Fitness parking lot with all the lights. Plus it wasn't full darkness yet. So, I waited about five minutes and then went back inside, disappointed.

Sidebar: This is yet another reason I miss living in the country. There I could see stars and watch meteor showers.

I ate the leftover chicken and Amish potato salad. The Amish need to work on that recipe.

I watched NCIS although it was a repeat. Then I watched the tribute to Tony Bennett's 90th birthday. There was a amazing amount of singers on it. Then I went to bed.

Perhaps it was one of those targeted ads.
