Summer in the City...

It was unseasonably warm when I took the trash out to the road on Tuesday. And, it just kept getting warmer...

I had to go to the Credit Union at lunch. I don't mind paying for the fuse box with a credit card, but I'll be damned if I pay interest on it!

Then I deposited the cashier's check in my bank and went across the street to eat at a crappy Mexican restaurant.

Sidebar: I said crappy and I meant it. The food is tasteless and they have no hot sauce to give it any zip. But, they have three things going for them: the portion size is small (which I like), the food is cheap and they are FAST.

It was 74 degrees at noon.

By the time I got home, it was 77 degrees!

I quickly changed clothes and got to work outside. First I bailed out the reflecting pool with a bucket and then a cup. I threw in a couple of pieces of wood in it and put the lid on it. Then I set a patio block on top of it to hold it in place.

I put the piece of plywood in front of the crawl space vent like I do every winter to keep the cold wind out.

Then I went to pick up the young Shaolin monk to take him in the house. He crumpled apart in my hands! Damn!

Discouraged, I just went inside for the night.

My brother Carl called to tell me he just got back from his Miejer's. He said they have every kind of Mrs. T's pierogies you could imagine (including a spinach and feta cheese one, which sounds awful). I thanked him and told him I would check out my own Miejer's.

I ate a couple of hot dogs for dinner. I watched NCIS, then switched to the World Series game until 10:00 p.m. when NCIS New Orleans came on. When that finished, I went back to the baseball game. By the time it was over, it was after midnight, which is why I overslept, which is why this post is late...

  2. I never thought of that! I think I still have one of those Sirrachi bottles somewhere.
